Capital City Home Loans and Community Sustainability Enterprise Team up with Local Organizations to Achieve Affordable Home Ownership for Hardworking Single-Parent Families

March 16, 2017 – Capital City Home Loans, the industry-leading full-service mortgage lender, is proud to announce a partnership with Community Sustainability Enterprise (CSE) to provide affordable, sustainable home ownership for families in Gwinnett, GA. Spearheaded by Greg Shumate, CEO of Capital City Home Loans, and Deirdra Cox, President of CSE, the two organizations are proud to partner for a second time on a Warrick Dunn Charities (WDC) and Habitat for Humanity home build, making a difference in the life of a hard-working, single-parent family and the community in which they live.

BrandBank, Capital City Home Loans’s parent company, sponsored the first of two Build Days in November of 2016, and began the journey of providing a home for a well-deserving family. The home is in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and employees from the bank and athletes from local Meadowcreek High School teamed together and provided volunteers for the event. The second Build Day was sponsored by both Credit Plus and McMichael & Gray.  Both companies provided volunteers and also partnered with Meadowcreek High School athletes in their community service initiatives.

The final phase of the collaboration took place in the first quarter of 2017. Shared by Capital City Home Loans, McMichael & Gray and the Meadowcreek Athletic Department, these days consisted of furnishing and decorating the new home to prepare for presentation to the lucky family. This phase was part of an innovative youth leadership development program that both Capital City Home Loans and CSE have built expressly with the athletes of Meadowcreek High School in mind, who, along with staffers and more, participated. This satisfied an essential piece of the community service requirement that itself has become the heart of the program.

“Capital City Home Loans and CSE demonstrate and champion corporate social responsibility as it relates to affordable homeownership and youth leadership development,” said Greg Shumate, CEO and Managing Partner of Capital City Home Loans. “Partnering a second time with long-time philanthropist and former Atlanta Falcons football great Warrick Dunn and his organization is another compelling example of these efforts.”

Deirdra Cox adds, “A collaborative effort with Warrick Dunn Charities and Habitat for Humanity is an expansion of the Capital City Home Loans community development network of like-minded business professionals. We welcome our inaugural partners, Randall Brown of Credit Plus and Randy McMichael and Katie Fish of McMichael & Gray.”

The home build and corporate partnerships with organizations like Warrick Dunn Charities and Habitat for Humanity, are just a few of the many examples of how seriously Capital City Home Loans takes its position not only as an industry leader, but as a change agent of the communities in which it operates. Similarly, this project is at the core of Community Sustainability Enterprise’s mission and values.
